Prayer and Memorial

In case you have not heard… Yesterday a woman that was a huge part of our church family went to be with our Father in Heaven. Marie Cook, wife of Dan our facility caretaker, passed away after complications arose in her heart surgery. Here are a couple dates and times to be aware of:

  • Tonight (4/15/08) there is a prayer gathering taking place in the third floor sactuary at 6:30pm to pray for Dan and the rest of Marie’s family.
  • Saturday (4/19/08) there will be a memorial service here at LCC. This will take place at 11:00am with “pot luck” afterwards in the Fellowship Hall so we can celebrate Marie’s life.

    To The Cook Family,

    My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Marie Cook at this time of bereavement.

    I don’t know Dan but am a good friend of his brother Dave and I know that Dan and his Marie must be very well thought of by the congregation.

    My prayers are with Dan and his family. I just wanted to comment on the memorial service which was very moving and happy at the same time. It showed that if you are a Christian, when you die we should celebrate your life because you will be with the Lord.

    Marie was one of those people that always made your day a little brighter. I will always remember her for her kindness, big heart, and smiling face. She’ll be greatly missed.
