30 Hour Famine {Youth}
February 9, 2010
On March 5-6 LiverpoolYouth (our youth ministry for grades 6-12) will be participating in the 30 Hour Famine. The teenagers and youth leaders will be going without food for 30 hours and participating in various fun and spiritual experiences that will help in learning about poverty throughout the world. In the weeks leading up to the 30 Hour Famine students will be raising money for both World Vision & to make 0% interest micro-loans through Kiva.org.
Last time the youth did the 30 Hour Famine our students rased about $1,300 that was sent to World Vision and $500 in micro-loans were made to 20 individuals in Cambodia. To date, none of the loans have had a single late payment and $480 out of the $500 has been paid back. This means that upon completion of the next famine the youth will be re-loaning the original $500 in addition to the new funds that have been raised.
If you have a teenager who is interested in participating please fill out the form below (click here if you are reading this on email or RSS reader):
