Karen ErnstYour idea of a perfect day?
My idea of a perfect day is one in which our family and friends are gathered together; watching an SU game or playing cards together with lots of laughter filling the air. In contrast, another idea of a perfect day would be the opportunity to snuggle up alone with my comforter to enjoy reading a novel, with a cup of coffee.

Your first job?
My very first job was working at Big N (similar to K-Mart) while in high school. My first full time job in my career was to teach regents Earth Science at Faith Heritage School. I am now in my 23rd year teaching in the Baldwinsville School District, presently in second grade.

If you could vacation anywhere….where would you go?
Any vacation sounds good to me! Seriously, in the U.S., an Alaskan Cruise would be amazing. Outside of this country, a vacation to Italy would be a dream come true.

What is your favorite book (besides the Bible)?
I am reading continually, both professionally, spiritually and personally for relaxation. I could never narrow myself to one book as I am always engrossed in the moment. However, my favorite memory is reading “Where the Red Fern Grows” with my son (who is now in college) during the summer between sixth and seventh grade. It was his favorite novel in elementary school and now it is mine.
