One Prayer Series

August 21, 2008

Don’t miss these next two weeks as we begin a special two-week series entitled One Prayer.

Each week we will focus in on one prayer for the Church, for our church.

Remember, on Sunday, August 31 there will be only one service at 10:00 am as we join together as one church family to end the summer.

Old School Series Is Coming

May 20, 2008

At Liverpool Community Church, we are starting a new series this coming Sunday (5/25/08!)
Liverpool Community Church Old School Series

So what is Old School all about?

Well, there are lots of different people that we can read about in the Old Testament but what are we supposed to learn from them for our lives today? Over the course of this series we will be looking deeper into the lives of some of these ancient people to gain some wisdom for today.

Relationships By Design

April 23, 2008

Spring is in the air and we are starting a new message series here at LCC on Sunday, April 27!

Relationships By Design is all about looking at God’s instructions for our relationships. We are going to take the next few weeks to look into some of the relationships in the Bible (the good, bad, and ugly) and take a look deeper into some of the stuff that Jesus said about relationships in order to see if there is something that God intended for our relationships that we are missing out on.

We all deal with relationships and we all want to have better relationships so this is the perfect series to jump in on for the first time. It is also the perfect time to invite a friend that you care about!

Easter Weekend!

March 19, 2008

Easter is almost here can you believe it? Probably not with all of this crazy weather we have been having! If you have been wondering why Easter is so early this year, keep reading to the end of this post!

  • 2008 Easter Eggstravaganza!

  • This coming weekend is also a perfect time to invite a friend to church! Almost everyone is going to church anyway, why shouldn’t a friend join you? We are starting “When Religion Isn’t Enough.” Normal service times: 9:30am & 11:00am with relevant programs for all children new born through grade 5! Click for series info:

  • Ok, now for your trivia!
    • Have you ever wondered why Easter is sometimes in March, and then the next year might be at the end of April? I did a little (unofficial) research here & here, and it turns out that you can blame Pope Gregory the 13th. Greg, and a couple of his buddies (Lilius and Clavius), decided the current method 424 years ago.

Evidently, the aim of the Easter Dating Method is to maintain, for each Easter Sunday, the same season of the year and the same relationship to the preceding astronomical full moon that occurred at the time of Jesus’ resurrection in 30 A.D. A good goal, but very confusing.

You’ll be glad to know that there are limits. Easter can never be before March 22 or after April 25. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives, since it won’t happen again for another 152 years. Oh, and the last time it was this early was 1913.

Here are the dates for Easter for the next four years…

      • 2009 – April 12
      • 2010 – April 4
      • 2011 – April 24
      • 2012 – April 8

Let’s celebrate! We are going to have to wait more than a year until next Easter!
